Cable Show 2013 Exhibit Sales Now Open

Cable Dominates Emmy Awards

As Tom Hanks said at last night’s Emmy Awards, “television is better than ever.” And it would seem that television is better on cable.  Cable once again dominated the awards at the 64th Annual Emmy Awards, winning a majority of the awards.  Cable networks grabbed 57 percent of the Primetime Emmys, and 65 percent of the marquee awards that were presented on Sunday night’s show, more than in 2011.

Cable Continues Focus on Improving Diversity

Next week in New York City is cable’s Diversity Week, an annual event where the cable industry comes together to highlight and honor the importance of diversity.  It is a busy week, filled with activities sponsored by cable’s diversity organizations: Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT), the National Association for Multi-Ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC) and the Walter Kaitz Foundation.  Most importantly, the week is the time when the industry renews its commitment to strengthening diversity – throughout its ranks, in its content, and in the many ways it serves consumers.
