We began with dreary cubes that had little to no natural lighting and tall barriers blocking the flow of communication.
After a refresh, we now have a large open space with natural light (we can see the sun, now!) and easy communication between team members (hi neighbor!). But tearing down the cube walls was only the beginning. We wanted to create a space that would foster creative thinking and encourage collaboration.
So to make the space even more welcoming and to encourage the flow of wild ideas, we commissioned local DC rising artist Kelly Towles to mark our walls with his special blend of street art and abstract characters. You may be already familiar with his work – it can be seen on bottles of DC Brau (a local DC beer worth a try when in town for The Cable Show), the walls of hit restaurant Graffiato, and other locations across DC.
As a former cube dweller now living in the sun, it was great having Towles help reinvent our space and make life at NCTA even more inspiring.
