This year’s The Cable Show is shaping up to be a show of “firsts.” It’s the first year we’ll be hosting Hiring our Heroes, a job fair for veterans and their families.

Yesterday, winners of the 2013 Vanguard Awards – the cable industry’s most prestigious honors — were announced.   Originated in 1965, the Vanguard Awards honor the “best of the best” in the cable industry and the previous winners are literally a “who’s who” of the entrepreneurs, pioneers, innovators and creative minds that made cable what it is today.

When you turn your cable box on, what you’re really doing is opening up a secure gateway for data. You’re allowing every cable channel, every feature film, and all on-demand programming into your home.

The Cable Show is more than splashy cable TV networks and the newest apps. Since nothing can make it to your TV and iPad screens without significant behind-the-scenes work by engineers, the show’s Spring Tech Forum is devoted entirely to cable science and technical issues.

Great leadership in the cable industry has lead to delivering broadband access to 93% of Americans and has heralded in a new golden age in television.

It’s been said that we live in a golden age of television. With high-quality programs like Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead, we’ve reached a point in which the quality and production value of TV has reached a level that was once held exclusively by big budget Hollywood films.

Can you believe The Cable Show 2013 is only four months away?  The show comes to Washington, DC, June 10-12th and there are a million reasons you should be there.  Here are just a few.

The 2011 Spring Technical Forum proceedings are now available for purchase. The CD-ROM features all of the papers that were used as the basis for the Spring Technical Forum sessions at The Cable Show 2011.

The Cable Show 2011  has kicked off at McCormick Place in Chicago.  The three day gathering of cable’s operators, programmers, and vendors showcases the advancement of the industry that brings telephony, entertainment and high-speed broadband access to America.
