Day One Opening General Session — Hip Hip Hooray

Anyone who has watched any CEO-centric General Session over the years knows that as men (and occasionally women) running companies that are, more often than not, publicly traded , there’s not a whole lot of time spent taking the gloves off and — if you’ll excuse the mixed metaphor — lobbing hand-grenades.

The Cable Show 2011 Kicks Off

The Cable Show 2011  has kicked off at McCormick Place in Chicago.  The three day gathering of cable’s operators, programmers, and vendors showcases the advancement of the industry that brings telephony, entertainment and high-speed broadband access to America.

Yesterday’s opening session of The Cable Show 2010 featured a line up of cable heavy hitters in free-flowing discussion across a wide variety of topics.  Starting with the FCC’s recent decision to pursue reclassification of ISPs under Title II, moderator Tyler Mathisen questioned the CEOs about regulations, business models, consumer interests, and the future.
