Our deployment in the Twin Cities includes DOCSIS 3.0 CableLabs Qualified Bronze-level CMTS and DOCSIS 3.0 compatible pre-standard cable modems. The CMTS equipment is from Cisco and is capable of downstream bonding, which gives us the ability to offer the 50 Mbps service tier. Upstream bonding will be possible with Silver certification, which we are in the process of obtaining. Eventually, we will get to full or (Gold) certification. With DOCSIS 3.0, we will be able to offer even faster speeds of 100 Mbps in the next two years with the capability of offering 160 Mbps or more in the future.

Separately, the modems deployed today in the Twin Cities are from Cisco. They are compatible pre-standard cable modems that we were able to use for the initial deployment. Today, there are no DOCSIS 3.0 certified modems available, but they will be very soon from a variety of vendors and at that point they will get deployed.

The Comcast deployment in the Twin Cities is NOT DOCSIS 3.0. In fact, it is a Cisco based proprietary product.
